Sector Intelligence is led by professionals experienced in both research and management roles. The core team is supported by a broad team of research professionals, service consultants, subject matter experts, and technologists who lend specific subject and methodological expertise to Sector client projects.

Craig A. Honick
President and Managing Associate

Craig has analyzed the dynamics that drive human behavior in professional and consumer settings for more than 15 years as an advisor to organizational leaders. An ethnographer by training, he has focused both academically and professionally on understanding the influence that culture and socialization have on individual choice in professional environments, as well as in business to business and consumer marketplaces.

Craig's clients have included such diverse groups as the American Heart Association, the National Association of Home Builders Research Center, Building Owners and Managers Association International, the American College of Cardiology, the Convention Industry Council, the American Society of Public Administration, the American Bar Endowment, the National Association of Music Merchants, Alcan, Inc., Elsevier Science, the Los Angeles Police Department, and Mercer Human Resource Consulting, among dozens of other association, government, and corporate concerns.

Craig has served in posts as an association executive, a professor of business, and as a university-based public policy analyst. In the private sector, as a day to day manager, he successfully led three emerging technology companies to acquisition. His broad experience navigating fluid competitive environments and studying the patterns of organizational intelligence practice moved him to found Sector Intelligence with the intent of helping clients to adopt more contemporary, powerful and cost effective models for their market research.

Andrew E. Scherer
Sr. Associate, Market Analysis

Andrew has more than 20 years of experience in business development and market analysis. He has served as a corporate executive with MidAmerican Energy, Peter Kiewit Sons, Signet Bank, and Schlumberger, where his responsibilities included both financial analysis and the analysis of market opportunities.

As a principal of Scherer Cybrarian Services, an information consultancy, Mr. Scherer has worked on a range of association projects including membership needs research, re-branding, and organizational structure changes. He is an expert in conducting due diligence across a variety of industries and assessing the size and economic viability of industrial sectors and sub-sectors.

Andrew earned a BS in electrical engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.



Wendy Goldman Scherer
Sr. Associate, Communications and Liaison Services

Wendy is a noted expert in leveraging online technologies for research and communication application, having been active in developing online strategies since 1988. A former partner with advertising stand out Bozell Worldwide and a principal in Scherer Cybrarian Services, she has designed strategic planning and marketing campaigns for a large list of client accounts that include Disney Interactive, the Los Angeles Times, PNC BANK, Firaxis Games, Bayer, MidAmerican Energy and others.

At Sector Intelligence, Wendy is responsible for ensuring that clients' market intelligence operations are serving them in a manner that optimizes the clients' communication, branding, and positioning potential.

Wendy earned a BA in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University.



James C. Hamilton, PhD
Sr. Associate, Research and Analysis Services

Jim is seasoned social psychologist as well as an experienced field and survey research professional. He leads field research teams on large scale industry studies for Sector Intelligence, and consults on the structure of survey research and analysis.

Currently a Professor of Psychology at the University of Alabama in the Health Psychology Department, Jim focuses his academic research on the the motivational factors that contribute to unexplained medical symptoms, as observed in functional somatic syndromes, somatoform disorders, and especially factitious disorder. He has worked extensively with teams of physicians to design care for individuals with psychological disorders that impact their ability to benefit from appropriate health care services. While the scope of his research experience spans multiple fields, Jim possesses particular expertise in assisting Sector clients in the medical/healthcare sector.

Jim completed his undergraduate studies at Clark College and completed his masters and doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at Case Western Reserve University, where he worked under the renowned social psychologist, Ray F. Baumeister.

 

Michael Stubbs
Sr. Associate, Data and Technology Management

Michael is an experienced consultant and operations manager, as well as a highly respected expert on computer-based technologies and database development. Michael is also an expert in Human Factors in the workplace, with an emphasis on how individuals interact with technology.

Michael has more than 15 years of technology development experience as the Founder and CEO of Ultimac, a Los Angeles based IT firm serving more than 600 clients from legal and accounting, to retail and manufacturing. A large segment of Michael's work has been in the entertainment industry, counting the largest movie studios and production houses among his clients. He has innovated large-scale database solutions for such clients as Imagine Entertainment, the American Film Institute, BMG, and DreamWorks SKG to catalog and manage millions of creative assets.

Michael completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology at California State University , Northridge, and completed his masters studies in Human Factors, also at California State University , Northridge. He has designed the interface and reporting capabilities of numerous informational databases, and focuses on the usability and functionality of technology in expanding profit centers for corporations and other organizations.
